| Study facilities: |
Until the autumn of 2010, the Lambeth Road building will be undergoing extensive refurbishment aimed at creating state-of-the-art storage facilities for the Museum’s Collections. Visitors will still be able to use our Reading Room throughout this period, but should bear in mind that
- there will probably be noise disruption due to building work
- we may not be able to offer our usual standard of service
- particular parts of the Collections may be unavailable, so prospective visitors are advised to check with us well in advance in order to avoid wasted journeys.
Study room now available for wheelchair users and others unable to negotiate stairs. For details of special facilities please telephone 020 7416 5222
Most of the Foreign Documents, War Crimes Trial records and associated collections are held in the Department of Documents’ repository at IWM Duxford, just outside Cambridge. There are basic research facilities on site which are open to the public, by prior appointment, Monday – Friday 10.00am – 5.00pm (there is currently no Saturday service at Duxford): e-mail contact via docs@iwm.org.uk, or telephone direct on 01223 499346. Limited quantities of material can also be transferred to Lambeth Road at the discretion of the Archivist, given sufficient notice. |
